How the numbers work

EMI formula

We use the standard reducing-balance formula: EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n − 1). Interest is calculated on the outstanding balance each month.

Moratorium period

During course + grace months, you typically do not pay EMI. Interest still accrues, and most lenders add it to your principal when repayment begins.

Processing fee

This is usually deducted from the loan before disbursement. We subtract it from the loan amount so you see the cash that actually reaches you.
